Q: How do I install Fast Simon only for Tapcart? (i.e. Not for Desktop or Mobile)
A: Download both apps to your store
- When installing Fast Simon - make sure search and autocomplete are OFF!
- On the Fast Simon merchant dashboard, enable Smart Collections
Do not copy the snippet into your liquid file. - Head to the Integration tab, scroll down to the Mobile Apps section and turn on TapCart. This will share the integration steps with TapCart support
- On the Tapcart dashboard - search for Fast Simon in Integrations

Q: I love Fast Simon for TapCart and now I would like to use it on desktop and mobile. How do I do that?
A: Given the fact that Fast Simon will display on the desktop and mobile front end, it is best practice is to test it out first on a dev store, or if you don’t have it - on a non-live theme.

Q: Fast Simon is not working with my TapCart app. What should I do?
A: Please ensure that in Fast Simon dashboard->Integrations->TapCart the toggle is ON.
Next, confirm you have collections toggled on in the Smart Collections tab on the dashboard.
Q: How do I set up filters?
A: Fast Simon pulls in the standard filter values (price, color, size, collection). Then, you have the option to include any additional filters that you would like to display. If you already use Fast Simon for search or collections, Tapcart will follow the same filter setup you have made in Filters>Filter Configuration. You may add tag-based filters (this will pull in from Shopify tags) or keyword based filters (this will pull in from keywords in the title and/or description).
Q: How do I add a price filter slider?
A: While Fast Simon does support the price filter slider for desktop, currently Tapcart does not support price fitler sliders for the app. Please talk to your TapCart rep.
Q: Does merchandising on Fast Simon reflect on Tapcart?
A: All merchandising configurations in Fast Simon will be reflected on the app
This includes: Search Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Rule Based Merchandising, Collection Merchandising, and Merchandising Strategies.
NOTE:
Currently, Tapcart doesn't bring the collection data from Fast Simon when it is first loaded, only when sort or filters are selected.
If you would like to have the product assortment in merchandising rules and visual merchandising to be reflected in Tapcart, you may have the configurations pushed to Shopify with two options.
- SwitchToggle on “Push Category Sort Order To Shopify” which will automatically push the order of products to Shopify once a day.
- Choose the “Save and Push to Shopify” option in the Merchandising editor.
Q: What configuration from Fast Simon is supported in Tapcart?
A: Fast Simon owns the backend, Tapcart owns the frontend.
This means that Merchandising assortment, Filter definition and value, and Advanced Search Controls will be reflected in TapCart Search and Collections. However, front end shopper experience configurations in Fast Simon would not be reflected in TapCart - only on desktop and mobile.
Q: How are “Out of Stock” products displayed on Tapcart?
A: Fast Simon allows merchants to set out-of-stock policy for collections and search separately. You can either show, hide, or push to the bottom out of stock products.
Fast Simon’s, out of stock policy is always reflected in TapCart. Collections out of stock policy is only reflected when collection filters are activated. See Note above.
Q: I am seeing “Out of Stock” products in the TapCart collection even though they are hidden in Fast Simond. What should I do?
A: Currently, Tapcart doesn't bring the collection data from Fast Simon when it is first loaded. It only brings it from Fast Simon when filters are selected. This is why you can see out of stock as TapCart brings it from Shopify. Please talk to your TapCart rep.
To work around that, you can set up a rule to hide out of stock products in merchandising and then Push it to Shopify.

Q: How do I merchandise a product that is exclusive to Tapcart?
A: Products that are only published only on TapCart, will appear as unpublished in the Fast Simon Visual Merchandising Editor. You can still merchandise and promote them. When done, push to Shopify, and these products will retain their new position.
